Today’s Pokémon TCG Perfect Order drop did not feel like a normal release day. Online, a lot of people were already calling the set a skip. But in stores, the story looked very different. Target and Best Buy both had strong stock, and many shoppers were able to find product without much trouble.
A big part of the chatter today was how people kept comparing this release to a more forgettable set. Some collectors think Perfect Order is not going to hold much long-term value. Others think it is being judged too early. That split in opinion made release day feel more interesting than expected.
What really stood out was how much product was on shelves. Several reports from collectors showed heavy Target restocks, with plenty of ETBs and other sealed products available. That kind of stock is important because it gives regular buyers a real chance to pick up the set at retail instead of chasing it at market prices.
Best Buy also looked like a strong option today. Shoppers reported promo-included purchases, which made the deal even better for people looking to buy sealed product. Target and Best Buy both kept prices close to MSRP, so they ended up being the best places to shop if you wanted value.
GameStop, on the other hand, was not as appealing. They did have product, but prices were higher than MSRP, which made the deal less attractive. For buyers who care about price, that mattered a lot. Just having stock is not enough if the cost is too high.
Overall, today’s Perfect Order drop showed that hype online does not always match what is happening in stores. Even if some people are writing the set off, the heavy restocks and fair pricing tell a different story. For collectors and casual buyers alike, Target and Best Buy were the clear winners today.
Plus, that Meowth ex is really cute, and its now my chase card!
